The second annual Heart of Helena Art Auction was held April 10 at the Helena Civic Center.
The auction sponsored by St. Peter’s Episcopal Cathedral helps support some nonprofit service organizations in the Helena community. All proceeds will benefit these organizations and St. Peter’s Cathedral Capital Campaign Fund.
There were 265 pieces of art and more than 100 were sold, said Darien Scott, a member of the Heart of Helena committee.
She said dozen gift baskets that had been donated were sold in the live auction.
Those to benefit from the auction include Family Promise, The Friendship Center, God’s Love, Helena Food Share, YWCA, Rocky Head Start, Good Samaritan, Intermountain and St. Peter’s Episcopal Cathedral's Next 100 Years Campaign.
KTVH chief meteorologist Curtis Grevenitz served as the master of ceremonies and auctioneer and Mayor Collins welcomed people to the event.
Last year about $22,000 was raised at the auction. Scott said this year they hoped to raise about $25,000 but they were still tallying the proceeds early Friday.
“I am very pleased with how it went, the time just flew by,” Scott said.
